Boulder Valley Schools Nondiscrimination Policy

The Boulder Valley School District will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or violence against anyone, including students and staff members, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, or religion.

BVSD's Beliefs on Equity

The goal of BVSD is to confront values, beliefs, attitudes, and practices in school and district processes that marginalize and silence the voices of diverse populations. This website is intended to be a resource for equity education in Boulder Valley schools as well as the broader community.

BVSD Believes...

  • in the worth of each individual
  • all students can learn, achieve and succeed
  • in recognizing and meeting the needs of the individual student
  • diverse accomplishments and cultures of people enrich the community
  • education is a responsibility shared by the student, home, school and community
  • the teacher has the greatest impact on a student's formal education
  • striving for excellence is worth the investment
  • high expectations are necessary to achieve excellence
  • in challenging all students to do their best
  • education is a valuable asset
  • educated citizens are essential for a democratic society
  • change can create the opportunity to improve
  • an excellent school system enhances the quality of the community
  • our school system is accountable to our community
  • learning is a lifelong process
